Coen and Rob will be working as teachers for the very first official metal school ever in the world called Metal Factory.
Metal Factory will be a three year educational programm to metal musicians who want to work as pro's in the (metal)music business. The programm will contain intense skills training, music theory, management, technical education and much more!
Coen and Rob will start in September along with colleagues Ruud Jolie (Within Temptation), Stef Broks (Textures), Danny Tunker (Aborted, God Dethroned), Joost van den Broek (ex-After Forever) and more. Auditions for students will be held in June!

We are happy to announce that Simone is pregnant!
Simone and longtime partner Oliver Palotai (Kamelot, Sons of Seasons) are expecting their first child around the end of summer. To ensure the best possible pregnancy and considering Simone's and the babies health, we have decided to stop our live activities from the 1st of July. This means Epica will not play this years Masters of Rock festival in the Czech Republic.
However this does not mean Epica won't do anything!
Our Retrospect live-DVD will be released upcoming fall. Furthermore, during the second half of 2013 Epica will start working on a brand new record which will be released in 2014.
We are looking forward to see you all at the remaining shows this year and will be back next year with a new CD, stronger than ever!
We are excited to announce that we will perform in United Arab Emirates for the first time in our career. On the 7th June we will perform at the Dubai Rock Festival which takes place at the Dubai World Trade Center Arena . We will perform alongside Yngwie Malmsteen, Dark Tranquillity and Myrath.

The re-release of Epica's highly acclaimed debut album The Phantom Agony has re-entered the Dutch album charts ar nr. 8!! Smashing it's old record of position 54 (back in 2003). This also means The Phantom Agony is at the nr. 1 position on the AlternativeTop30 Chart!!!
We've also hit the charts in Belgium! The Phantom Agony reached nr.114 in the album top 200.

This expanded edition of The Phantom Agony comes in a deluxe digipack and contains 15 bonus tracks, including 7 previously unreleased versions and 1 previously unreleased song. The 20 pages thick booklet will provide unique photos and memorabilia, plus liner notes by founder Mark Jansen.
For the first time ever the album is also released on double vinyl! It is pressed on high quality 180 grams audiophile vinyl and put in a 350 gram cardboard gatefold sleeve including all lyrics. Besides the regular album, this release contains 6 bonus tracks.

Epica is coming to Finland, Belarus and Russia in the end of May, beginning of June. These 3 shows will be an exclusive chance to see Epica in Northern Europe this year. We are thrilled to return to Helsinki and Moskow and happy to perform in Minsk for the very first time.

On 23rd March 2013, we will celebrate our 10th anniversary with a special performance entitled Retrospect. Joining us on stage will be the 70-piece Extended Remenyi Ede Chamber Orchestra and the Choir of Miskolc National Theatre. It will be our most ambitious project to date, with special effects and unexpected guests, and we are happy it has nearly sold out. Fans from all over the world will be joining us for this special occasion.

Epica is proud to announce their first ever appearance in Indonesia! We have been getting a lot of requests from fans over there and finally we will be able to play for you guys. Epica will perform on the 27th of April 2013 at the Hammersonic Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia.
